Service Architect
Our client is an IT Services organisation who are thought leaders in Infrastructure Services, Workspace, Connectivity and Consulting. Part of a Global organisation, with a turn-over of €1.97 billion in 2010 they have both an impressive client base and an aggressive growth strategy. Due to recent successes and current volumes of business, they are now looking to bring on board a Service Architect.
The service architect will report directly to the Head of Operational Solutions, being responsible for liaising with both the proposition owner (sales) and the customer to understand their business, technical and commercial needs and proposing feasible solutions in line with the extensive services portfolio. Additionally, there is also the requirement to support the bid process and be engaged in business development activities with the wider team.
The Person
A confident communicator with a sound track record of providing client solutions, in a pre sales environment. You are likely already a Service Architect delivering managed service and outsourcing solutions across a wide range of services, you may also be someone in a pre sales or Project function where you are delivering business propositions.
This is not a technical architecture role however a good appreciation of how technology, products and solutions work together will be required in order to propose the optimum result.
Skills & Experience - Essential
• A thorough knowledge of Workspace,Telephony and Infrastructure service offerings regarded as best practise within the IT Managed service and outsourcing industry
• Able to dissect RFP/RFQ/RFI’s and adapt the customer requirements to the services offered.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills focusing on using plain business English to clearly and concisely articulate the overall solution and its key features and benefits.
• Extensive pre-sales experience, from initial meetings through to transition
• Understanding of various IT Workspace and infrastructure technologies.
• Previous experience of architecting solutions ranging from Break-fix, Deskside, Remote Monitoring and Management, Service Desk and all the ITIL disciplines
• Confident and experienced to challenge customers, Sales Leads, Service Authorities and Service Line Owners.
• Knowledge of competitive Outsourcing and managed service offerings.
• Commercial knowledge – effort modelling, cost analysis, contractual awareness and TUPE awareness.
• Extensive experience in the industry working for Tier 1 or 2 Suppliers
• Experience of working on multiple customer engagements
• Able to work on multiple bids in parallel
• Experience in developing the full range of Managed Services and Outsourcing solutions involving:
• Multiple Service Lines and Towers
• Up to 10,000 users
• Multiple countries
• Service Transformational Elements
• Service Transitional elements
• Qualifications:
• ITIL Foundation Certificate (essential)
• PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate (desired)
Travel to Milton Keynes and or Farnborough and client sites as and where required.
